Religion
Religion, like music, was also essential to the people because it helped them release their worries. In an interview, according to Ruth Aitken, the pews were never empty at church on Sundays, which means that many people went to church often. After World War II ended, there was a strange pattern. The more the veterans disliked the war, the more religious they’d become after the war. The veterans found a community in religion and took comfort in it. Soldiers who found the war as a positive experience attended church less. Religion played a big part during and after the war. In a religion, people are able to socially interact more and find more support. Bonds are created among the groups, which could help a veteran get over the traumatic experience of fighting in war.
